Early Internet Work
Frank Masotti began building websites in 1995 during the early development era of the public internet. At the time, websites were often created using basic tools such as Netscape Communicator before the modern web development ecosystem existed.
By 1996 he transitioned to writing websites directly in HTML, using Macromedia HomeSite as his primary editor. He continues to use that editor today, maintaining a direct hands on approach to building and understanding the structure of the web.
Working in raw code during the early years of the internet provided a foundational understanding of how digital information is organized and interpreted by computer systems.
Watching the Web Evolve
Over the following decades, the internet transformed from a collection of simple websites into a global information system driven by search engines and algorithmic discovery.
During the search engine era, much of the digital marketing industry became focused on tactics designed to influence rankings rather than on how information systems actually understand entities and authority.
